MIL-HDBK-799, DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE HANDBOOK: FIRE CONTROL SYSTEMS - GENERAL (05 APR 1996)., This handbook was developed to provide guidance and general approaches to the development of fire control systems. In particular, the handbook has been prepared to aid the designers of Army fire control equipment and to serve as a reference guide for all military and civilian personnel who may be interested in the design aspects of such materiel. The guidance in this handbook is based on the fundamental parameters of the fire control problem and its solution. Primary emphasis is placed on the systematic approach required in the design of present-day fire control equipment and systems. This approach involves thorough analysis of the particular fire control problem at hand, establishment of the most suitable mathematical model, and computerization and mechanization of the mathematical model.

Scope:This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) covers high strength thin wall (commercial) sockets, universal sockets, box wrenches and torque adaptors which possess the strength, clearances, and internal wrenching design so configured that, when mated with 12-point fasteners conforming to the requirement of AS870, they shall transmit torque to the fastener without bearing on the outer 5% of the fastener's wrenching points. Inclusion of dimensional data in this document is not intended to imply that all of the products described herein are stock production sizes. Consumers are requested to consult with manufacturers concerning lists of stock production sizes. The dimensional limits of box and combination wrench lengths have been established to provide configuration control for tool storage applications.
