【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulfordeterminingthespecificpackabilityofuncoatedandcoatedairbagfabrics.Fabricpackabilityisanimportantfactorinthedesignofairbagmodulesduetotheirinherentspacialconstraints.Afoldedspecimenexhibitsbetterspecificpackabilityifitoccupiesalowertotalvolumeatthespecifiedloadscomparedtoanotherspecimen.Thetimerequiredtotestonesample(fourspecimensfromthesamelotoffabric)isapproximately1.5husingthistestmethod.Duetothelengthoftimerequiredbythistestmethodtoperformasingletest,thistestmethodismostsuitableforuseindesignanddevelopmentanalysisorforinclusioninalistofrequiredtestsconductedforannualcertificationofanairbagfabric.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresfordeterminingtheabilitytofoldandpackfabricsusedforinflatablerestraintsusinganindexofspecificpackability.1.2Proceduresinthistestmethoddescribeoperatortechniquesthatmustbefollowedcloselytoobtainrepeatableandaccurateresults.Sincethesetechniquesaredifficulttoconveyinwriting,supplementaltrainingforoperatorsisrequired.AtrainingvideoisavailablefromASTM(seeAdjunctsADJD6478andADJD6478A).1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Proceduresandapparatusotherthanthosestatedinthispracticemaybeusedasagreeduponbetweenthepurchaserandthesupplierwithspecificdeviationsfromthispracticeacknowledgedinthereport.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpractices,anddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
