【摘要】:Theprepregvolatilescontent,matrixcontent,reinforcementcontent,andfillercontentofcompositeprepregmaterialsareusedtocontrolmaterialmanufactureandsubsequentfabricationprocesses,andarekeyparametersinthespecificationandproductionofsuchmaterials,aswellasinthefabricationofproductsmadewithsuchmaterials.Theextractionproductsresultingfromthistestmethod(theextract,theresidue,orboth)canbeanalyzedtoassesschemicalcompositionanddegreeofpurity.1.1ThistestmethodcoversaSoxhletextractionproceduretodeterminethematrixcontent,reinforcementcontent,andfillercontentofcompositematerialprepreg.Volatilescontent,ifappropriate,andrequired,isdeterminedbymeansofTestMethodD3530/D3530M.1.1.1Thereinforcementandfillermustbesubstantiallyinsolubleintheselectedextractionreagentandanyfillermustbecapableofbeingseparatedfromthereinforcementbyfilteringtheextractionresidue.1.1.2Reinforcementandfillercontenttestresultsaretotalreinforcementcontentandtotalfillercontent;hybridmaterialsystemswithmorethanonetypeofeitherreinforcementorfillercannotbedistinguished.1.2Thistestmethodfocusesonthermosettingmatrixmaterialsystemsforwhichthematrixmaybeextractedbyanorganicsolvent.However,other,unspecified,reagentsmaybeusedwiththistestmethodtoextractothermatrixmaterialtypesforthesamepurposes.1.3AlternatetechniquesfordeterminingmatrixandreinforcementcontentincludeTestMethodsD3171(matrixdigestion),D2584(matrixburn-off/ignition),andD3529/D3529M(matrixdissolution).TestMethodD2584ispreferredforreinforcementmaterials,suchasglass,quartz,orsilica,thatareunaffectedbyhigh-temperatureenvironments.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection9and7.2.3and8.2.1.
